The Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI), Kashmir Branch, with the support of TNAI Headquarters, successfully organised a Two-Day International Workshop focused on advancing professional nursing practice and strengthening nursing education.

The landmark programme brought together Nursing officers, Nursing administrators, Faculty Members, from across Kashmir, creating a vibrant platform for professional learning, knowledge exchange and sharing of national and international experiences.

Day 1 – Advancing Professional Nursing Practice

The inaugural session commenced with a Welcome Address & Unfolding of the workshop theme by Dr. Nighat Ara, Treasurer, TNAI Kashmir. The session was graced by Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Wani, President TNAI Kashmir, as Chief Guest, and Ms. Aisha Akhter, Secretary TNAI Kashmir, as Guest of Honour.

The keynote address on “Future of Professional Nursing Practice” was delivered by Dr. Jeena Pradeep, Deputy Assistant Director General–Nursing, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The scientific sessions addressed contemporary areas including evidence-based clinical nursing practice, legal and ethical issues, smart patient monitoring and emerging clinical technologies, patient safety and NABH standards, nursing leadership and workforce management, and artificial intelligence and digital health in clinical nursing.

A major highlight was the participation of International speakers from Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. delivered a session on Nursing Leadership and Workforce Management, and on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health in Clinical Nursing.

The workshop also provided an opportunity for nursing officers and nursing administrators from Kashmir to share their expertise, experiences and professional perspectives, particularly in areas of clinical practice, patient safety, leadership, workforce management and emerging healthcare technologies. The sessions encouraged meaningful interaction between frontline nurses, administrators and international experts.

The Day 1 programme concluded with an Open Forum, Discussion & Experience Sharing facilitated by Dr. Javaid Ahmad Mir, Organising Chairperson/Programme Coordinator and Chairperson, Nursing Education & Research, TNAI Kashmir.

The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Dilshada Rashid, Chairperson, Membership Committee, TNAI Kashmir, acknowledging the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, speakers, TNAI Headquarters, organising team and participants.

Day 2 – Innovative Teaching Strategies for Excellence in Nursing Education

Day 2 focused on “Innovative Teaching Strategies for Excellence in Nursing Education”, bringing together nursing faculty and educators from across Kashmir to explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

The day began with a Welcome Address by Mr. Mohammad Ayoub Dar, Chairperson Programme Committee, TNAI Kashmir, followed by the theme unfolding by Ms. Ishrat Fatima, Vice President, TNAI Kashmir. Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Wani, President TNAI Kashmir, served as Chief Guest, while Ms. Aisha Akhter, Secretary TNAI Kashmir, was the Guest of Honour.

The keynote address on “Future of Professional Nursing Education” was delivered online by Dr. Annie Kumar, National President of TNAI.

The scientific sessions covered Artificial Intelligence in Nursing Education, Simulation-Based Learning, Innovative Assessment Strategies, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Flipped Classroom Approaches, Evidence-Based Teaching Practices, and Peer-Assisted and Near-Peer Teaching.

The programme provided a valuable platform for nursing faculty from Kashmir to present and share their expertise, innovative teaching practices and academic experiences. Faculty members from various nursing institutions contributed to the scientific sessions, demonstrating the growing academic strength and innovation within nursing education in Kashmir.

The Day 2 programme concluded with an Open Forum, Discussion & Experience Sharing led by Dr. Javaid Ahmad Mir, Organising Chairperson/Programme Coordinator and Chairperson, Nursing Education & Research, TNAI Kashmir, followed by the Valedictory Session.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Neelofar Bashir, Joint Secretary, TNAI Kashmir, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, faculty members, nursing professionals, participants, TNAI Headquarters and the organising team.

A Landmark Initiative for Nursing in Kashmir

The workshop successfully brought together Kashmir’s nursing officers, nursing administrators and faculty members with national and international experts, creating a unique platform for sharing knowledge, professional experiences and innovative practices.

With the valuable support of TNAI Headquarters and participation from experts from India, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia, the workshop marked another significant milestone for TNAI Kashmir and reaffirmed its commitment to advancing clinical practice, nursing administration, education, leadership, research, innovation and professional excellence.
